LED Grow Light 2021

On September 15, 2020, the DLC released the official version of the Plant Lamp V2.0 standard, which will be implemented on March 21, 2021.  Until then, all DLC applications for plant lights will continue to be reviewed in accordance with V1.2 standards.

Plant light V2.0 official update content

01. The requirement of PPE V1.2 ≥1.9μmol/J was maintained
In the first draft version of plant lamp V2.0, DLC plans to increase the PPE photosynthetic photon efficiency value to 2.10μmol/J.  However, after collecting feedback on the draft, DLC realized that plant lamps were an emerging market. For the sustainable development of the market, DLC decided to keep the PPE photosynthetic photon efficiency value of the current V1.2 standard unchanged, while keeping the tolerance of -5% unchanged.

In addition, DLC adds two optional reporting parameters, the photon flux parameter and the efficiency parameter of 280-800nm, and the radiation within this range is usually related to the growth and development effects of plants.

02. Revised terminology to comply with ASABE(S640)
The DLC has revised some policy terms to better align with the American Society for Agricultural and Bioengineering (ASABE) ANSI/ASABE S640 definitions.

03.The security authentication requirements must meet the UL8800
The safety certificate for plant lighting products must be issued by OSHA NRTL or SCC and comply with ANSI/UL8800(ANSI/CAN/UL/ULC 8800).

04. Tm-33-18 data requested
The DLC will require PPID and SQD data information exported according to the TM-33-18 standard.

05. Family Series Application
The DLC will accept applications for the Family series of plant lamps, designed to reduce the testing burden and application costs.
Product as a Family requirement Must use the same LED; Must be identical in structure, including electrical, optical and thermal structures; Can include different drivers; Under the condition that heat dissipation is not affected, different mounting brackets can be included;   Must include full detailed model name; A model name can only correspond to one brand. When a product is sold with multiple trademarks, the model names need to be differentiated accordingly.

06. Private Label Column name application
DLC will accept applications for Private Label column names for plant lamps.
